Falls from heights are a leading cause of workplace fatalities and serious injuries in Ireland. In 2022, there were 91 non-fatal accidents involving falls from heights reported to the Health and Safety Authority (HSA). These accidents resulted in a variety of injuries, including broken bones, head injuries, and spinal cord injuries.

Here are some essential safety tips on Working at Heights harness:
ALWAYS inspect the harness and lanyard before each use
Make sure it fits you properly
Attach the lanyard to an appropriate anchor point as trained
Stay connected to your anchor point at all time
Know your fall factors to reduce any impact on your body
NEVER use a harness without proper training
Always discuss and have a RESCUE PLAN (Remeber you have approximately 10 minutes before the airway of a person suspended in a harness becomes restricted.)
